general questions

How do I know if β€œFull Service” or β€œa la carte” is right for me?

A La Carte is a great option for couples who have a few extra hands willing to help set up the day-of. If you’re in need of bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, vase centerpieces, arbor decor, and if you’ve got friends and family who are excited to help out on the day of your wedding, A La Carte is the option for you! A La Carte is also suitable for those with a lesser floral budget. We appreciate A La Carte clients who trust our expertise and trust that their flowers will be incredibly fresh and beautiful on their wedding day, even when picked up from us the day before.

Full Service is required for those who envision large, tall centerpieces, fully-decorated arbors, overhead floral installations, and for those who want to completely rely on us for setting up and tearing down their floral displays. With this option, weddings typically have larger, more involved floral design. We are happy to travel an hour or two outside of the Buffalo-Lockport area and frequently perform wedding setups in Chautauqua and Rochester/Finger Lakes regions.

What is your pricing for wedding floral?

Every Full-Service Wedding Client we work with receives a custom quote based on their needs. Full Service weddings do not have a β€œpackage” as everything is custom per client. If you would like to receive pricing for wedding floral, we will gladly work with you on a quote if we are available on your date! Inquire here.

Every A La Carte Wedding Client we work with is emailed our package of floral items available for order with pricing. If you would like to receive this package, we will email it to you if we are available on your date. Inquire here.

Do you have a minimum for weddings?

Yes. Our minimum price for Full Service weddings in Erie/Niagara Counties is $4,000 (farther locations have a higher minimum, all dependent on distance). Our minimum order for A La Carte weddings is $500. Both minimums are pre-sales tax.

but like, why Do you have minimums for weddings?

Running a seasonal business means we must be discretionary when taking on floral work in order to meet our sales goals for the year. Since we only produce floral work using our own-grown flowers, we are only able to produce work for six months out of an entire year. The wedding work we take on must generate enough revenue for us to stay in business. We don’t have minimums because we’re greedy or unfair; it’s simply a business decision we’ve made so we can stay in business.

How can I book you for my wedding flowers?

Please visit our Wedding Page and decide whether Full-Service or A La Carte is a better fit for your needs. Fill out the information requested and we will be in touch via email with our availability. We would love to work with you if your date is available.

Do you do off-season/winter weddings?

No. Generally, our wedding season runs June-October to reflect the seasonality of our own-grown flowers on our flower farm.

may i request specific types of flowers?

Due to the volatility of Mother Nature, we hesitate to accept requests for highly specific varieties of flowers, but we will make every effort to include blooms (or similar blooms) that you love or are sentimental to you. Some flowers are just not available during certain times of the year. For example, one common request is Peonies, which are loved by most but have a super short growing season and are only available for only 4 weeks in Late Spring.

We can, however, omit certain varieties of flowers that you dislike. If, for instance, you don’t want roses, there won’t be a rose within a mile of your wedding day! We listen intently and have never forgotten a specific request to date.

i don’t know anything about flowers. Can you help me?

Yes!!! This is what we’re here for. In fact, the less you know the better, because our best designs happen when we have full freedom to create within your color palette.

Can I buy BULK flowers from you to design my own bouquets & centerpieces?

Absolutely! Please inquire with us using this form: A La Carte Weddings Form and indicate that you’d like Bulk Buckets of Flowers.

A La Carte Weddings

When and where do I pick up my flowers?

Your A La Carte Wedding Flowers will be available to pickup the day before your wedding β€” we will coordinate a time together. You, and/or a designated helper, will pickup your flowers from our home studio in the City of Lockport. Please note, floral orders are NOT picked up at our farm.

How will my flowers stay fresh?

Bouquets are packed in vases with fresh, cold water. Smaller out-of-water items (boutonnieres, corsages and flower crowns) are given to you in moisture-sealing packaging that will then be stored in your refrigerator until they’re ready to be worn. You will be provided detailed care & setup instructions to set you up for success. A floral cooler is not necessary. We’ve never had a problem with A La Carte flowers dying or wilting.

Do I have to bring anything back afterward?

You are welcome to rent items from us (bud vases, regular vases, candle holders, ceremony stands, arbors, etc) that will be noted on your contract that they must be returned. If you haven’t rented anything, there is no need to return anything, although we will gladly take back anything you don’t have a plan to reuse. We will even compost any leftover flowers for you!

Full Service Weddings

What happens to the flowers after my wedding?

For Full Service weddings, we prefer design your flowers in our vase collection that we reuse over and over again, in an effort to reduce waste and keep our carbon footprint as low as possible. After your wedding, the flowers are composted to return to the flower farm as fresh new earth after your event. If you want to keep the floral arrangements, we are happy to add the cost of the vase onto your contract; or, you are welcome to take flowers out of the vases at the end of the night at no extra cost!

Do you provide candles or other rental decor?

We provide an array of candles, and in fact, we’ve never designed a full service wedding without our beautiful collection of glass votive candle holders (the short ones with tealights). We love incorporating candles into our designs, including pillar candles & tall taper candles in beautiful glass hurricanes. We also have a collection of modern acrylic table numbers, several styles of ceremony displays (modern pedestals, stands, urns, arbors), table runners, and a beautiful modern cake stand.

Can you provide flowers for my rehearsal dinner?

We would love to flower your rehearsal dinner if we’re available! Please send us an email about it at heirloomsoulflorals@gmail.com when you know the time and place.
